Working with Animals:

A lifetime gap year opportunity in Africa for anyone who is passionate about endangered animals or hoping to study for animal/veterinary care is endangered animal conservation– particularly Cheetahs.  It’s a wonderful experience and a first class education about animals.  Or you could spend two weeks combining passions for art, horses and wild African animal conservation, a chance to open your eyes to the beauty and delicate balance of our natural world is a gap year African experience like no other!

Work with Children in Africa 

During Your gap year in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania and Zambia you can work among primary/secondary and vocational schools, or support orphaned children in the slums restoring what has been lost through disease and poverty.   Your gap year in Africa could be used to join a support team working with offering medical support within the Masai tribal people, bringing health education and literacy to remote communities at grass roots level. 

Or you could live in a beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site being a part of the Orphan Day Care Centres.  During your gap year in Africa you may be promoting an established HIV/AIDS awareness programme, as well as having opportunities to assist with local farming.  Spending a gap year in Africa provides an opportunity to give teaching assistance in under-resourced schools, and make a positive impact on the lives of local children, assisting with Community projects, such as building, adult literacy clubs and supporting the Old People’s Home. 

For the over 30’s, a gap year Africa living in the heart of a Big 5 Game Reserve rural community development with many children and young adults lacking education and support is a unique chance to share your knowledge, skills and experiences with young people in the Zulu heartland. Meet and help some fantastic people who will warm your heart and leave you smiling from ear to ear! 

Elephant and Rhino conservation and research: Your gap year in Africa on the beautiful East coast gives you the chance to be a part of a variety of conservation and research initiatives focussing on endangered Rhino and Elephant as well as other wildlife species.  You’ll never forget your time at this private game reserve where the nights are as exiting as the days!

Share your Practical Skills and knowledge! In Mozambique an amazing and inspiring gap year project provides you with a unique opportunity to share your talents in carpentry, conservation and mechanics and knowledge with local students in your gap year Africa. The desire to learn is immense, and the passion of the project leaders is contagious!
